The mission of Film Society KC is to support and encourage filmgoing and filmmaking in the greater Kansas City area by hosting events and screenings designed to bring together members of the community to educate and elevate the conversation about the cinematic arts. So far in 2016, Film Society KC has hosted a tribute to the late Fred Andrews and 5 member screenings. Your ticket purchase is greatly appreciated and will go towards programs and services to educate and support Film Society KC, a 501(C3) organization, and the Kansas City film community.
A portion of the proceeds will also benefit The Robert Altman Emerging Artists Fund, which provides Altman Education Grants through Artists INC Live, a program which addresses the specific business needs and challenges which artists of all disciplines face throughout their careers. Film Society KC established the Fund in 2011 to help local filmmakers better realize their creative business pursuits and cinematic visions. Since its founding, the Fund has provided over 30 Altman Education Grants to filmmakers throughout the area.
